My Bucket List

keep-calm-one-life-live-it--4

Having a bucket list these days is the “thing to do”.  I think it says a lot about our society.. we are moving out of the age of  “lazy millennials” and turning into overly ambitious adventure-junkies. In honesty, I think they are inspirational and motivating. I love  that they are currently in.

After graduating college, and working as a professional for 2 years, you develop a mundane routine, you establish your life, and are scared to move out of it. You are scared to see what else is there. You imagine all these possibilities of your life going wrong if you go out of order. That is my intention of creating this list. When life is too routine, too predictable, it becomes boring (obviously), but for me, it defeats the purpose of living. It defeats the huge efforts that your body, your brain, your organs go through, in each moment to get you to the next breath. Our breath, our life, is a miracle. The fact that you are privileged enough to be here, in body and mind, is a blessing. We only have one body, we must nurture it, cherish it, respect it. Along the same lines, we only have one life, one intention, and one chance. Break out of your routine.
Press for something more…. (fill in the blank).

As my dear friend Eleanor once said…

“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and
without fear for newer and richer experiences.”

which is an eloquent way of inspiring others to try something new. Eleanor was quite right.
I have made this motto my intention and my motivation to change my lifestyle. To look at each experience as if it were new and different, to wake up each day thinking of a positive, and to most importantly, let go of fears.
